Who needs this
- Buyers purchasing a resale property, apartment, house or plot
- Sellers who need a contract that protects their position
- Foreign buyers who want the terms explained clearly in their own language
What this covers
The contract of sale is the document that sets out what you are buying or selling, the price, how and when it is paid, and what happens if something goes wrong. In Cyprus, a well-drafted contract that is properly stamped and deposited with the Department of Lands and Surveys is one of the main protections a buyer has before the title deed is transferred.
What I do
- Review the draft contract prepared by the other side, or draft it from scratch
- Explain each clause in plain language and flag anything unusual or one-sided
- Negotiate terms such as payment stages, completion dates, penalties and what is included in the sale
- Make sure the contract reflects the results of the due diligence
- Arrange stamping and deposit of the signed contract (see contract registration and transfer)
How to start
Send the documents you already have through the contact form or by email, or book a consultation to discuss the purchase or sale first. If you have not yet signed anything, it is best to get in touch before you do.
